Question 1

What are the 88 days?

Accepted Answer

The 88 days (or 3 months) of regional work are required to obtain a second-year Working Holiday Visa (417). They must be completed in zones and sectors designated by the Australian government.

Question 2

Is 88mates free?

Accepted Answer

88mates is free to download, and the core features are free for backpackers: day tracking, the checklist, job listings, the community map and 88-day spots. Some advanced features are available as optional one-time in-app purchases. Posting a job as an employer is also free during our launch period.

Question 3

What is a Work Ready profile?

Accepted Answer

A Work Ready profile is a public page you can activate in the app when you're looking for regional work. It shows your availability, skills, qualifications and location to employers browsing 88mates.com. You can share it as a link or print it as a CV in several formats.

Question 4

How do employers find me?

Accepted Answer

Employers can browse Work Ready profiles on 88mates.com/en/backpackers, filtered by location, job type and availability. If they like your profile they can contact you directly — no middleman. They can also post a job listing that appears in your app feed based on your location.

Question 5

How does 88mates help me track my 88 days?

Accepted Answer

The app lets you log each work day in one tap — date, employer and sector. It automatically calculates your progress, alerts you as you approach 88 days, and generates a summary you can keep in case of an immigration check.
